I'm not sure if you forgot to put a number before the parentheses or something, because this doesn't look right. I am going to help you in the best way I can think of.

You can always solve equations easier using PEMDAS.

It stands for parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction.

It is in that order, because that is the order you are supposed to do it in.
