Who were the patriots and the tories ?

Patriots were people who loved and supported the thought of becoming independent of the British. The Loyalists (tories) STAYED loyal to the British crown.

The "Patriots" were the colonists who fought against British rule and wanted freedom during the Revolutionary War and "Tories" were also colonists but they supported the British cause instead. They are also known as "Loyalists"
