What event at Bastille was a tipping point for revolutionaries in France in 1789

The Parisians mobbed the Bastille believing it to have weapons so that they could seize them and take up arms to fight against the rumored French army that was supposed to be going to Paris. However there were no weapons. This day would later be known as Bastille day or the the French Independence Day
