250*300= 75000 sq. ft
75000 sq. ft * $5 = $375000

350*400= 140000
140000 sq. ft * $5= $700000

375000+700000= $1075000

Answer:

$1075000 is the cost to purchase both the lots.

Explanation:

The first house lot was 250 feet by 300 feet.

If the cost of per square feet to purchase a lot was $5 then cost of first lot will be = 250×300×5 = $375000

Second house lot was 350 feet by 400 feet.

So to purchase this lot with $5 per square feet = 350×400×5 = $700000

Now total purchase price for buying both the lots will be = $375000 + $700000 = $1075000

Therefore, $1075000 is the cost to purchase both the lots.
