Why is there a limit to how much Euglena and other single-celled organisms can grow?

there is a limit to how much Euglena and other single-celled organisms can grow because single cell organisms tend to not capable to do complex activities.
Humans for example has billions of cells within our body that allow us to grow and do complex activities
