How did the war hawks in the war of 1812 promote a war agenda?

Instead of finding a peaceful solution to British impressment, they wanted to go to war. They were often from the South or West, and they wanted to fight a war, just like their fathers had (Revolutionary War). A few of these War Hawks were elected- Calhoun, Henry Clay and Daniel Webster and they helped push the war hawk agenda- and they pushed Madison to declare war
