the worlds fastest insect is the dragonfly which can fly up to 36 miles per hour at this rate how long would it take a dragonfly to travel 54 miles

Well, think of the dragonfly's speed as a ratio of miles/hours, thus making it 36/1 (as a fraction). Now to solve this, set the known ratio equal to the ratio you want to find and solve for the missing variable (x) which is hours. Cross multiply to find your (x) hours.
36/1 = 54/x
36x = 54
