Solve for x. 3(x 2) 4(x - 5) = 10

Assuming that there is supposed to be a + sign in front of the 2 and 4; the answer is as follows.

3(x+2)+4(x-5)=10
3x+6+4x-20=10
7x-16=10
7x=16
x=2 2/7
