one easy way is first solve for y
3x-5y=9
minus 3x both sides
-5y=-3x+9
divide both sides by -5
y=
(3x-9)/(5)

so

if x=-1
y=
(3(-1)-9)/(5)
y=
(-3-9)/(5)
y=
(-12)/(5)

if x=0
y=
(3(0)-9)/(5)
y=
(0-9)/(5)
y=
(-9)/(5)

if x=1
y=
(3(1)-9)/(5)
y=
(3-9)/(5)
y=
(-6)/(5)
