you would first substitute -7 for m and 2 for n. It would look like this: 4| -7-2 | . we first solve the absolute value because it is the first step in PEMDAS or order of operations. -7-2 is equal to -9. Our equation should look like this now: 4 |-9| . we solve the absolute value portion, the absolute value of a negative number is the the same number but positive. the absolute value would be 9. (we just take the negative symbol off). we now have 4 x 9. This is equal to 36.

36 is the answer.
