An object's weight is calculated as the mass of an object in kilograms multiplied by the acceleration of gravity exerted in meters per second squared. The resulting number is expressed in newtons, named for Newton's second law of motion.

Answer:

The gravitational force of attraction caused by the Earth and acting on an object is called the weight of the object. It is the product of the mass of the object and the acceleration due to gravity on the object.

Mathematically, the weight(W) of a body is directly proportional to its mass(m) as follows;

W
\alpha m

W = g x m

Where the constant of proportionality g is the acceleration due to gravity.
