I think it is 16 rocks because 48 divided by 3 = 16 so phil has 16 more rock than peter

X= peter's rocks
3x = phil's rocks
x+3x = 48
4x=48
x = 12
3x = 36
36-12 = 24
Phil has 24 more rocks than peter.
