The answer is 6.. To get a perimeter, you have to add each side. If the perimeter is 2 ft. (24inches) you divide 24 by 4 to get each number that adds up yo 2 ft.

Perimeter of a square=4*side length
2=4*side length
2/4=side length
.5 or 1/2=side length

Hope this helps!
