Take the equation first, 6(h+4)=2h
multiply 6 ----> 6h+24 = 2h
subtract 24 on both sides --> 6h=2h-24
subtract 2h on both sides --> 6h-2h=-24
4h=-24
divide both sides by 4 ---> h= -6

6(h+4)=2h
6h+24=2h distribute left hand side
6h-2h+24=2h-2h subtract 2h on both sides
4h+24-24=0-24 subtract 24 from both sides
4h/4=-24/4 divide 4 from both sides
h=-6 solution
