These were some of the literary forms applied in Medieval period. Several of these, were taken from Greeks, like allegories, which consisted in representing an idea using familiar forms, like humans, animals or objects.

Also, dialogues and commentaries was found in first place on Aristotle. Because he was centered in rhetoric.

Meditation, Soliloquy: used to show what the character is thinking
