Define homeostasis and give an easy to understand example

Homeostasis is a temperature that your body tries to keep. It has to work harder in freezing temperatures and hotter temperatures and if your body can't sustain the right temperature (homeostasis) it will start to shut down. It keeps the organs going as humans temperature needs to be in the range of 98.6. Otherwise if you're way too hot organs could liquefy and if too cold, freeze. hope this helped you understand :)
