Okay. So It is definitely not 2. Transitive property or 3. Reflexive property. Then It's not 4. Commutative property of multiplication because even though you are just moving things around in a different order, 1. is a better answer because it involves parenthesis.

Answer:

Associative property

Explanation:

Given: 4(a ⋅ b) = (4 ⋅ a)b

Here we are multiply 3 number 4, a and b.

Associative property: It is algebra property to multiply or add three or more numbers.

So, first we have to associate two number and then multiply.

For Left side, we associate a and b.

⇒ 4(a ⋅ b)

For right side, we associate 4 and a

⇒ (4 ⋅ a)b

Here, we used associate property of algebra for multiply.
