The formed elements that would increase after the donation of a pint of blood would be the reticulocytes. Reticulocytes contains 80% of the amount of hemoglobin of the regular red blood cells. When there is blood loss, these reticulocytesincrease in number to compensate with the loss and within the 24 hour period, these reticulocytes would become mature red blood cells.
