Mark, Paul and Brian share some sweets in the ratio 1:3:5. Mark gets 14 sweets. How many

did Brian get?

Add up all the ratio numbers, so 1+3+5=9
Then from the total number of sweets (14) divide by 9 which gives you 1.5
Then 1.5x Brian’s share (5) gives you 7 sweets
