How come two negatives make a positive, but three negatives makes a negative? Does this have to do with there being an odd/even amounts of negatives and cancelling each other out?

Okay well work step by step. If there is three negatives, you first want to multiply the first two negatives. Your number will come out positive but you are still left with one more negative. so you will multiply the positive number with the negative number which comes out with a negative number.
