Answer: Hello!

If the measure found is 1.1 m, means that the smallest "graduation" of your ruler (the precision of the ruler) is for 0.1m

Then, with this ruler, you only can differ between the values of 1.1 m and 1.2m

But you also could measure just in between, if the end of the dorway is rigth in between the values of 1.1m and 1.2m, the point 1.15m is a good meassure.

So the actual smaller possible measure is 0.05m, which means that the greatest possible error is 0.05m

So the right answer is the second option.

So, To find the GPE of 1.1 m

First we look that it is in decimal form so place value of last number.

In 1.1 place value of 1 (after decimal) is tenth place.

So, The precision is 0.1

GPE = Half of the precision


GPE=(0.1)/(2)=0.05

Therefore, The greatest possible error of 1.1 m width is 0.05 m.

So, Option B is correct.
