My sister needs this answered!

Donald is creating an experiment to determine if fertilizer affects plant color. He makes this statement:
"If each plant receives a different amount of fertilizer,
then the plant's color intensity will change."
Donald's statement is a proposed general relationship between fertilizer amount and plant color. This statement is best described as:

1) an error.
2) a hypothesis.
3) a prediction.
4) a question.

a hypothesis. a hypothesis is an if-then statement. if it was a prediction it would be something like "I think the color will change with different amounts of fertilizer" so it isn't a prediction
