The department of labor is a cabinet-level department and it has the responsibility of making and ensuring compliance of laws related to the welfare of the job seekers, employees, and retired employees of the United States. The department also ensures the compliances of laws related to retirement benefits, health care schemes and contributions by employers to such schemes.
