Following are three reason why the European Christians joined the crusades. These crusades came into being after centuries of Muslim wars of expansion in city of Jerusalem and the Holy places of Palestine.

1. The primary goal was to inhibit the expansion of Muslim states.
2. They wanted to spread Christianity and reclaim their lands in the Middle East.
3. And finally, they wanted to recapture the Christian terrorists that had be in capture previously for spreading terrorism.
