A farmer sets up a buffalo farm in this ecosystem. Over time, the buffalo greatly reduce the grass biomass in the community. Explain how the introduction of this new species could affect the amount of energy transferred within the food chain.

The buffalo are primary consumers and are taking away food and thus energy from other primary consumers. The buffalos are not native to the area, therefore they do not have any natural predators and are not proving energy to secondary and tertiary consumers.
