3/4 = 12/x
this is a proportion, so we cross multiply
(3)(x) = (4)(12)
3x = 48
x = 48/3
x = 16

now notice this.....12/16 reduces to 3/4....probability's are nothing but equivalent fractions

Answer:

x=16 is the value of x.

Explanation:

We have been given the two terms which are equivalent means they have equal value:

(3)/(4) and
(12)/(x)

So, by the given information:

(3)/(4)=(12)/(x) we have to solve for x:

Firstly, we will cross multiply so, we will get:

3x=48

After simplification we will get the final result

x=16 is the value of x.
