The way this the sentence is being explained is like saying that the car is old. I can say this because just applying dinosaur to a car it wouldn't make sense to say that the car was big because the way dinosaur is used is in a broad range of dinosaurs. This means that the only logical answer would be to say that dinosaur represents something old meaning that the car is old.
