We commonly know two types of carbohydrates. These are called simple and complex carbohydrates. Simple ones don't need a lot to get processed and enter our bloodstream very quickly, providing a quick way of increasing our energy stores. The second type of carbohydrates are complex carbohydrates, these need to get transformed in different substances and can be used for longer durations.

our bodies use complex carbs and simple carbs. the simple carbs are putting sugar into your blood stream really fast because they are simple to break down. this will cause high blood sugar. complex carbs are more complicated to break down. they release a slower flow of sugar and energy into your blood stream. this will cause you to have more energy for a longer amount of time.
