sorry I don't have a number line but I know how.

7.2 is greater than 7.09 because the 2 in 7.2 could also be 7.20 which is greater than 7.09 and the more the numbers in the decimal world means it's less. decimals are fractions so the more the numbers the less the pieces. the nine in 7.09 is in the hundredths place and that's less than the tenths place and in fractions 7.09 would be 7 9/100 and 7.2 would be 7 2/10. two pieces from a ten cut pizza would be greater than a 100 cut pizza and eating 9.
