The crew on fishing boat caught four fish weighing a total of 1092 pounds. The tarpon weighed twice as much as the amberjack and the white marlin weighed twice as much as the the tarpon. The weight of the tuna was 5 times the weight the amberjack. How much did each fish weigh?

ta = tarpon
am = amberjack
wm = white marlin
tu = tuna

ta + am + wm + tu = 1092
ta = 2 * am
wm = 2 * ta = 4 * am
tu = 5 * am

2 * am + 4 * am + 5 * am + am = 12 am = 1092
am = 91
ta = 2 * 91 = 182

etc...

x= weight of amberjack
2x= weight of tarpon
4x= weight of marlin
5x= weight of tuna

x + 2x + 4x + 5x= 1092
12x=1092
x= 91

Amberjack weighs 91 pounds
Tarpon= 2 x 91 = 182 pounds
Marlin= 4 x 91= 364 pounds
Tuna = 5 x 91 = 455 pounds
