The Mayflower Pact was not only a government document, it was the first in the Plymouth Colony. Written by pilgrims who sailed across the Atlantic Ocean on the Mayflower, it was signed on September 11, 1620 by 41 passengers out of 101. The main purpose of the document was to serve as a social contract, where those involved would commit to following the rules described. Avoiding problems, for lack of laws.

It is considered by current historians as a constitutional model, with the difference that the participation of interested parties occurred directly.

The pact collaborated in the development of the other colonies that later arrived in the American territory, serving as base. Favoring the order and social organization of these colonies and consequently better results, both politically and economically.
