The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement consists of several components: the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The Movement’s mission is to prevent and alleviate human sufering wherever it may be found, to protect life and health, to ensure respect for human dignity (in particular in times of armed confict and other emergencies), to work for the prevention of disease and the promotion of health and social welfare, to encourage voluntary service and a constant readiness to help and, fnally, to foster a universal sense of solidarity towards all those in need of the Movement’s protection and assistance The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization
