Could -2 be used as a base to rewrite 32? 64? Why or why not?

-2 cannot be used as a base to rewrite 32 as 2^5 is an odd power and odd powers with negative bases will be negative. However since 64 is 2^6 it is ok to use a negative base because it will end up positive

Could -2 be used as a base to rewrite 32? 64? Why or why not?
