x = -4y x + 5y = 2
-4y +5y = 2

*add -4y and 5y*
y = 2

x = -4(2)

*Multiply -4 and 2*
x = -8

Y=2, put -4y in for do to the second equation, and then it's technically 5-4 so then you have 1y=2 then you move the 1 to the other side by dividing 2 by 1.
