-x - y = 1 . . . . . (1)
y = x + 3 . . . . . (2)
Putting (2) into (1), gives:
-x - x - 3 = 1
-2x = 1 + 3 = 4
x = 4/-2 = -2
From (2), y = -2 + 3 = 1
Therefore the two line will intersect at the point (-2, 1)
