why does George Washington support the constitution? and what does "a constitutional door is left open" mean?

He believed that if our nation should survive then we would need a strong government. The government needed rules to go by or they would basically monarch us. I think George Washington probably meant that the Constitution is not to be permanent and should change to fit the times needs.
