Determine the value of the discriminant of the trinomial 2x^2 + 4x - 2.

The discriminant of the equation determines the number of real roots and imaginary roots of the quadratic equation. The equation of the discriminant is equal to b^2 - 4ac equal to 16 - 4*2*-2 equal to 32. hence the two roots to be found are real.
