-Darwin's research was influenced by the work of English philosopher Thomas Malthus. Specifically, Darwin was interested in Malthus' idea of resources and living space as a limiting factor for human population growth. -Malthus believed that the human population was growing exponentially, and that at some point resources and living space were going to become too scarce to sustain that growth, leading to starvation, diseases, poverty, crime and war. In this way the Earth itself would limit the growth of the population.

-Darwin looked at Malthus' ideas and saw that they could also be applied to the natural world, since animals and plants experience environmental pressure as well.

"The principle of scarce resources" is the one concept that was developed by Malthus and influenced Darwin. Charles Darwin was an English naturalist and geologist. He was born on 12th of February in the year 1809 and died on 19th of April in the year 1882. I hope the answer helps you.
