During glycolysis, glucose components are transformed into metabolites such as carbon dioxide, lactic acid, acetic acid, etc. via the action of specific bacteria like lactic acid bacteria or acetic acid bacteria. During glycolysis, NAD+  is recycled when NADH reduces to pyruvate which precedes the formation of metabolites aforementioned.
