The vertices of triangle R'S'T' are R'(1, 3), S'(6, 4), and T'(4, 2). If triangle RST was dilated about the origin with a scale factor of 3, what are the coordinates of its vertices? A. R(–3, –1), S(–4, –6), T(–2, –4). B. R(1, –3), S(6, –4), T(4, –2). C. R(3, 9), S(18, 12), T(12, 6)

Original Vertices:
R' (1,3)
S' (6,4)
T' (4,2)

Dilated w/ a scale factor of 3.

1 x 3 = 3 ; 3 x 3 = 9 ⇒ R(3,9)
6 x 3 = 18 ; 4 x 3 = 12 ⇒ S(18,12)
4 x 3 = 12 ; 2 x 3 = 6 ⇒ T(12,6)

Answer is: C. R(3, 9), S(18, 12), T(12, 6)
