The water level in a plastic pool changed by -8gallons each hour due to a small hole in the bottom. After 6 hours, the pool contained 132 gallons. How much water was in the pool originally?

You can find this using the equation x = 132 + (8)(6), where x is how much water was in the pool originally.

x = 132 + (8)(6) Multiply
x = 132 + 48 Add
x = 180

There were originally 180 gallons of water in the pool.
