a - 4b = 10 . . . . . (1)
a = b - 2 . . . . . . (2)
putting (2) into (1), gives:
b - 2 - 4b = 10
-3b = 10 + 2 = 12
b = 12/-3 = -4

From (2), a = -4 - 2 = -6

Therefore, solution is (-6, -4)
