It weakened labor by restricting their actions in organizing. It gave the president more power over striking workers, and empowered companies in controlling labor agreements.

There were several things impacted by the Taft-Hartley Act of 1947. The biggest was unions were forbidden from contributing to campaigns and restricted the power of labor unions.
