When potassium chlorate, KClO3, decomposes, the products are oxygen gas and potassium chloride. The balaned equation is 2KClO3 = 2KCl + 3O2. Hence using stoichiometry, given 2.5 g of
KClO3, the amount of oxygen gas produced is 1.05 grams of O2.
