The three stages of cellular respiration are glycolysis, Krebs cycle, and the electron transport chain. Cells exhibit these stages in the presence of oxygen. They all happen when respiration is aerobic only. Hope this answers the question.

There are two types of cellular respiration, these are aerobic and anaerobic respiration. Anaerobic respiration can occur in the absence of oxygen, but for aerobic respiration to occur, oxygen must be present. The process of aerobic cellular respiration involves a series of oxidation and reduction reactions and the oxygen molecule serve as an electron donor and acceptor during this process. Thus the stages of cellular respiration can only occur if oxygen is present.
