The Korean public education structure is divided into three parts: six years of primary school, followed by three years of middle school and then three years of high school. On the other hand the basic school system in Japan is composed of a middle school that lasts three years.

Both countries have a collective society, but Japan has an external collective culture, while South Korea has an internal collective culture. It means Japanese collectivism is more society-centered, while Korean collectivism is more family-centered. In Japan, following social standards and social order is very important. Hope you find it helpful.
