Answer: 114

Explanation:

Use the Explicit formula for Arithmetic Sequences:

aₙ = a₁ + (n-1)d

a₂₃ = 4 + (23-1)5

a₂₃ = 4 + (22)5

a₂₃ = 4 + 110

a₂₃ = 114

In this problem you can use the equation 5x-1. You simply plug in for x, which in this case is 23, and solve. 5(23)-1 = 115 -1
=114
Your answer is 114.
