Immigrants are individuals who settle in a new country and seek to live their permanently. This is different from an emigrant because an emigrant is an individual who leaves their home country to live somewhere else. The difference is in the terminology whether it is in regards to the country they are going to in comparison to the country they are living immigrants in regards to going to new country, emigrants in regards to individual leaving their old country.
