Looking at a cell under a microscope, you note that it is a prokaryote. How do you know?

The prokaryotes are a group of organisms whose cells lack a cell nucleus, or any other membrane-bound organelles. The organisms whose cells do have a nucleus are called eukaryotes.

It can be easily identified because Prokaryotes neither have a distinct nucleus with a membrane nor other specialized organelles.
