We know that the hypotenuse of a right triangle is 50 millimeters long. One leg of the right triangle is 30 millimeters long.

Hypotenuse = c²
= 50

α² = 30

\alpha^2 + \beta^2 = c^2


30^2 + \beta ^2 = c^2


\beta ^2 = c^2(50) - a^2(30)


cb = √(1600)


C = 40

a^2 + b^2 = c^2\\\\30^2 +b^2= 50^2\\\\b^2 = 50^2 - 30^2\\\\c = √(1600)\\\\c =40

The length of the other leg is 40 millimeters.
